The dream interpretation method of Clark Moustakas

There are two common, but completely opposite, views on dreaming. The first sees dreams as random fluctuations, the product of an erratic and uncensored mind. The second sees dreams as meaningful phenomena, wise inspirations from which we can learn and grow.

The psychologist Clark Moustakas subscribed to the second view, encouraging his clients to reflect on their dreams and benefit from their wisdoms. The efficacy of his method was proved by hundreds of successful stories from clients who improved themselves using nothing but the counsel of their dreams.

In this article, we’ll explore Clark Moustakas’s dream interpretation method using an real example of a dream with deep existential implications. By the end, we’ll have a useful methodology for allowing us to unlock the practical wisdom of our dreams, using it to grow in our everyday lives.
