My October writing regimen
September has come and gone, and as per my writing goals for this month, I’ve published one article a day for the past 30 days.
I’ll be outlining what I learned from this experience in a later article: for now, I’m eager to jump right into my October writing regimen.
My emphasis will still be on consistency. I’m at the stage in my hectic and distraction-filled life where I’m slowly learning how to solidify writing as a daily routine. But I also want to start improving the quality of my articles, drawing inspiration from a wider range of sources and organizing my thoughts in a more coherent way.
For that reason, I want to publish an article three times a week — Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday nights — and focus on crafting them as longer-form expository and persuasive pieces. My goal is to discuss topics in a clear, concise, and impartial way, providing my audience with a unique idea or perspective that they find compelling and useful.
With that in mind, I want to write about things that people care about. Google News was initially a dependable source of interesting and topical article ideas, but after the first two weeks, I was straining to find content that really excited me. In October, I’ll be covering whatever topic I want — but for the most part, I’ll be drawing from ideas that I first explored in one of my September articles.
I hope that this upcoming month will be as enriching and beneficial to my writing skills as the previous one was. To anyone who might be following me along this process, thank you for your support; your feedback is always welcomed and encouraged.
Happy reading!
